Life - the secret of true life lies in the link with God
"The story of Adam and Eve, told by Moses, can be deciphered with the help of the Tree of Life. Take the last three sephiroth on the central pillar: Tiphareth, Yesod and Malkuth. Adam, the masculine principle, is placed in Tiphareth, the Sun; and Eve, the feminine principle, is placed in Yesod, the Moon. Eve is therefore closer to the sephirah Malkuth, the Earth, below which dwell the kliphoth—the non-organized forces—symbolized in the Bible story by the serpent.
It is from this subterranean world that the serpent climbed up into the tree and succeeded in seducing Eve, the woman, on whom the equilibrium of the tree depended. Even the name, Yesod, signifies foundation or base. Eve had to stay attached to the masculine principle, Adam, because Adam’s eyes were fixed on Kether, the heavenly Father. But Eve listened to the snake, so her attention was drawn downwards, and she ceased to support the edifice, which collapsed the instant she succeeded in attracting Adam’s attention. Both of them then plunged into the murky underground region of the kliphoth.
This story of Adam and Eve is repeated in every man and every woman who severs their link with God. The secret of true life lies in the link with God: this is what supports the whole structure."Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
