"Every day courts impose fines and prison sentences for theft and material damage. And, meanwhile, the greatest criminals walk free. Yes, they do! If you break your neighbour’s windows or trespass on their land, or if you steal something from a shop, the wheels of justice are immediately set in motion to punish you. But if you cause someone to lose their faith, their hope or their love because of words you write or say or the example you set, or if you drag them into a life of debauchery or violence, then justice will leave you alone. And if you are a philosopher, writer or film-maker, the general public will even applaud your talent and award you a prize. When what is most precious in humankind is sullied, people are not particularly shocked.
So that is how humans understand justice: those who dare to touch their neighbour’s material possessions are punished, but if they destroy their neighbour’s psychic health it’s of no consequence, because the soul and spirit don’t count; what counts is their physical body and their purse!"Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
