"Success is obviously more pleasant and glorious than failure. But in fact, whether you are successful or unsuccessful, it isn’t easy to find the right inner attitude. When people are successful, they may believe they’re allowed to do anything, and when they’re not they sometimes collapse. Well, the only thing to do is to attach little importance to either situation. What matters most is that we learn to use our faculties to deepen the inner link we have with our heavenly Father.
If other people recognize our faculties and benefit from them, so much the better, but that’s another matter and not what should concern us. Our task is to develop ourselves in a balanced and harmonious way, so that we move closer and closer to the image of the Creator we carry imprinted within ourselves. For, to tell the truth, those who possess intellectual or artistic gifts are not necessarily any happier for it, if they do not use them to find this divine imprint."Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
