"Believers attach inordinate importance to their churches and temples. But why do they limit themselves in this way? Have human beings ever built a temple to compare with the great temple created by God: the universe? Can any place be more sacred than one created by God himself? How can a building, a collection of crumbly materials, surpass the work of God which no one will ever manage to destroy? We must respect temples as places of prayer and retreat, but we must also understand that we can worship God in his own temple – in nature – and especially in the peace and purity of the morning. Here the rising sun is the communion host which distributes its blessings of light, warmth and life to all creatures.
Wherever you are on earth, the sun shines overhead. There is no need to travel or make a pilgrimage to find it. The sun is the symbol of God’s omnipresence, and its light, warmth and life are worth all talismans, all relics and all sacraments."Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
