"So many believers imagine heaven exists in order to give them health and success! And if they encounter illness or failure, it’s obviously the devil that’s sent it. Well, no, it could also be heaven, concerned about their development. For heaven doesn’t really take their suffering into consideration; it only wants them to improve. They can shout, cry, sob and threaten as much as they like, that doesn’t bother heaven, for it only asks that they become more intelligent, wise and enlightened. And unfortunately, it is only after they have been shaken up and given some nasty shocks that this result will be achieved.
The noise of wars resounds all over the earth, and many people ask why heaven doesn’t intervene to put an end to it. The reason is that heaven cannot forcibly control human hearts and minds and make people understand the advantages of peace. They are free. It must leave them to suffer so they can reach this conclusion themselves. And this is also true for many other events in their life. "Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
