"People who direct all their efforts toward material success cannot demonstrate much generosity. They feel they are in constant danger of losing what they possess, for they are at the mercy of events, or of others’ ill will, or of rivals who are more enterprising and clever than they are. It is hardly surprising, then, that they are reluctant to share with others what they are so afraid of losing. Not only do they refuse to share it, but they do everything in their power to hold onto it, even if they appear egotistical, ruthless or cruel.
Those, on the other hand, who have worked to acquire spiritual riches know that no one can take them away. They are always ready to share them, for they feel that by allowing others to benefit from them they themselves are enriched. "Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
