"Once you have felt the need to leave your ordinary, prosaic life behind and embrace the spiritual life, you must never stop progressing. You will endure highs and lows, of course, for your old nature will defend itself and use all sorts of arguments to convince you to turn back. But believe me, you must never give in to it; instead, grow stronger so you are able to master it. To carry out this work of inner strengthening, you must take advantage of every opportunity to meditate, pray and contemplate. Each time you must feel stronger, more determined and always better able to dominate your lower nature, saying to it: ‘There, I am the victor once again.’ And the next time you will fight another battle, for the struggle never ends. There will always be battles, but if you are constant and vigilant the victory will always be yours." Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
