"Make the decision once and for all to resist your impulsive instincts. Instead, take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way to gain self-mastery, for in doing so you will acquire freedom and strength. You can begin with very small things. For example, you are about to criticize or make fun of someone, and at the last minute you hold your tongue… You are with a man or woman and have the desire to make certain gestures, but you refrain… You are angry, you are leaving, and just as you are about to slam the door, you take hold of yourself and close it gently, consciously… It is with these seemingly insignificant exercises that you will become truly strong and free. You gain freedom by restraining yourself, because in restraining yourself you accumulate the forces you need to overcome obstacles. " Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
